Laura Barrett Bennett is an internationally known workshop leader and author of spiritual writings and curriculum. She is the founding minister of Light of the Mind Ministry, a ministry of transformational education. Before this, she served full time from 1991 to 2003 as a highly acclaimed instructor and Chairperson of Biblical Studies for the adult and ministerial education programs at Unity Village, Missouri where she continues to provide instruction at Unity Institute through the services of Light of the Mind Ministry. Earlier in her career, Laura held the position of senior minister at Unity Church of Flint, Michigan for more than seven years. A third generation Unity minister, Laura is a lifelong spiritual practitioner who has studied the Bible and world religions since childhood. She has lead classrooms for the Team Management and Leadership Program of Landmark Education out of the Chicago Heartland Center, and she is currently completing a Master’s Degree in Religious Studies. She uses a wealth of academic knowledge, inter-cultural spiritual practices, and personal development techniques to facilitate powerful experiences as well as train people in their ongoing spiritual and personal development. Laura has authored the Unity tape set The Wisdom and Power of Scripture: Part One, Truth and the Gospels; and is currently writing a series of books on spirituality from ancient times to the 21st century, as well as on the metaphysical interpretation and practical application of the Bible. She plays the piano, composes music, and sings, and lives in Kansas City with her husband, Larry, and two cats. |
Rev. Dr. Paul Hasselbeck currently serves Unity Institute as Dean, Spiritual Education and Enrichment. He is the author of Point of Power and co-authored Get Over It with Dr. Bil Holton. Paul also edited and updated the textbooks, Metaphysics I and Metaphysics II. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. He first became acquainted with Unity during the late 1980’s while living in Puerto Rico. He helped found the only English speaking Unity Church in Puerto Rico. Paul graduated from ministerial training in 1996 and served as the Minister of Pastoral Care and Prayer at Unity Church of Overland Park In Kansas. Prior to his current position, he was a retreat minister with Unity Village Retreats. The author of "Point of Power: Practicla Metaphysicals to Help You Transform Your Life and Realize Yor Magneficence," Paul now dedicates his time to helping Unity students around the world to tap into their spiritual potential.
Paul enjoys working out, surfing EBay, collecting vintage art pottery, two Yorkshire Terriers (Monet and Macky), an Italian Greyhound, and a small flock of exotic birds ranging from finches to macaws. The Rev. Norma Iris Rosado was ordained in 1983 and became the associate minister to the Asociación Unity de Cristianismo Práctico in Santurce, Puerto Rico. This is the oldest and largest Spanish-speaking church in the Unity movement. In the year 1987, Norma Iris established a school for licensing Unity teachers in Puerto Rico. It is from that school that most of the Unity Spanish speaking licensed teachers and ministers have been graduated. In the year 1989, when her husband the Rev. Luis Montero died, Norma Iris became the sole minister for that church. She grew the church from one Sunday service with an attendance of 300 or 350 hundred people to three services with 1,000 people on a weekly basis. With the assistance and urge of the now Rev. Paul Hasselbeck, Norma created what is still the only English Unity Church in Puerto Rico.
In 1990 Norma Iris was elected to the Board of Directors of the Association of Unity Churches. From 1996 to 1997 she served as President and Chair of the Board of the Association of Unity Churches. Norma Iris left Puerto Rico and joined Unity School as International Director for the Spanish speaking Unity Movement in 1998. In the year 2000 Norma Iris was granted The Paul Harris Fellowship Award by the International Rotaries.
Norma Iris is a well-known minister, lecturer, and motivational speaker in the Unity Movement. As a speaker she has visited 23 states and 15 countries including Cuba and Russia. Currently Norma Iris is a faculty member of the Spiritual Enrichment Education Department in Unity School.
The Rev. Norma Iris has one son, one daughter in law and no grandchild. When asked about her purpose in life, Norma Iris’ answer has always been: “I am a minister of God; my purpose is, to serve God, myself and humankind.” Norma Iris Rosado, notas biográficas La Revda. La mayoría de los líderes, maestros y ministros de Unity en español son egresados de esa escuela. En el año 1989, cuando su esposo, el Rev. Luis Montero murió, Norma Iris pasó a ser la única ministra en la iglesia. Bajo su dirección; la iglesia creció de un servicio en domingos a tres y de 300 0 350 asistentes a 1,000 por semana. En 1989 con la asistencia y apoyo del ahora Rev. Paul Hasselbeck, Norma Iris estableció la que fue, en el momento, la única iglesia de Unity en inglés en un país de habla hispana. En 1990 Norma Iris fue electa a la Junta de directores de la Asociación de Iglesias de Unity. En 1996 fue electa presidenta de la misma asociación. En 1998 Norma Iris se movió a trabajar a la Escuela Unity en MO como Directora Internacional para los países de habla hispana. En el año 2000 se le concedió el premio Paul Harris Fellowship de los Clubes Rotarios internacionales. En su labor como representante de Unity, Norma Iris ha visitado 23 estados en Estados Unidos y 15 países internacionales incluyendo Cuba y Rusia. Actualmente la Rev. Rosado es parte del departamento de Educación y Enriquecimiento Espiritual en Unity Village. Norma Iris tiene un hijo y aún no tiene nietos. Cuando le preguntan cual es su propósito en la vida, ella responde, “Servirle a Dios, a mi misma y a mi prójimo”. |
